Live Streaming Video
Streaming video at Bethel has changed a little since we moved from Sunday Streams to Boxcast as a streaming provider. We are still providing live streaming of three weekly events: the 8:30 Sunday morning Traditional Worship Service, Pastor's Sunday morning adult Bible Class, and the Tuesday morning Ladies' Bible Study. These are streamed live, and after the live broadcast will be archived for about 8 weeks. When viewing the live stream there is no way to pause, rewind or fast forward - it is just real time video from the service/class, with less than a minute delay through the ethernet and processing on the host server. Archive copies can be viewed later with the normal pause, rewind and fast forward options, but may not be available for 15 minutes or more after the live broadcast concludes.
There are several options available to you to view these videos, either live streaming or from the archive later. There is no particular reason to choose one over another except personal preference - they are all going back to the same server for the same video content.
- First option is to view the video with your favorite web browser directly from the BoxCast video player. This is linked directly to Bethel's account, so there is no need to login or navigate to the appropriate section. Simply click the link - it will open in a new window - and bookmark it for later access.
You can also use one of these buttons to open a new browser window and player for one of the Bethel Channels:
- The second option is to use the player below to view whatever is currently streaming. It is the same player as in the first option but is embedded without all the features of the full player.
- BoxCast does not provide the iOS and Android apps for mobile devices like Sunday Streams had. If you want to stream to your mobile device, simply open a web browser and go to http://streaming.blcbcs.org <NOT https:\\)
- Finally, you can stream to your television if you have an Amazon Firestick, Apple TV, or Roku unit. All of these will work in a similar manner:
- Find and download the BoxCast app and install it on your device; (one time only);<.LI>
- Open the app and search for the Bethel Channel with their search tool. The published name for Bethel is "BLCBCS - Bethel Lutheran, Bryan". Please note that ONLY Generation 4 (Black Remote Control) Apple TV units will work - Older Gen 3 and Gen 2 (brushed aluminum remote) cannot download new apps;
- Select the Bethel channel, flag as a favorite if possible, and select the service or class you want to view.
Bethel Lutheran Church's Mission is declaring the Gospel to those who do not know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, calling them into faith, while sharing and strengthening the faith of our members and fellow believers. |
