What Really Matters in our Declining Society
| |
1: "Doctrine Matters" |
So, does what we believe matter if we are sincere? Isn't it more important to be
tolerant of other's beliefs than to stubbornly cling to our own? Can I be a
Christian and still believe that there are many different ways for people to
discover God? Really, does all this "teaching" really matter? In a world
where there are many different ways to approach every issue, The Lord only
opens one door for mankind, and that is grace through faith in Jesus!

2: "Steadfastness Matters" |
Who is weak? Who is simple? Who is dependent and frail and ignorant? According
to our world, WE ARE. As our culture quickly secularizes, we are seen as those
who are to be most pitied because we are faithful to a Faith which, in their minds,
has been completely discredited. But this is as Jesus said it would be.

3: "Witness Matters" |
In the olden days, when our pastor preached about "witnessing" we all understood it
pretty much the same way. "...I need to talk about Jesus with my friends..." While this
is still true, witness has changed much in our world. Now all who claim Christ are
under examination by the world. Are we authentic? Are we different? Are we holy?

4: "Compassion Matters" |
So, if the premise is correct, that our world is in moral freefall, then how do we live?
With the decline of morals, the love of most grows cold. You see this in the absence of
manners, polite norms, and the lack of common courtesy. So who then will be polite?
Courteous? Compassionate? Those of orthodox Christian faith will be those who express
genuine Christian love.
